Background:
The Islands of Southeast Asia Network on Male and Transgender Sexual Health (ISEAN) and the Humanist Institute for Co-operation with Developing Countries (Hivos) jointly implemented the ISEAN Hivos Program supported by Global Fund Round 10. This program has the main goal of reducing the risks, vulnerability and impact of HIV and AIDS on the lives of MSM and transgender community in Island Southeast Asia Nations. It intends to address critical gaps in supporting and scaling up activities that reduce HIV/AIDS among MSMs and TGs.
Hivos, as the Principal Recipient of the grant under the ISEAN-Hivos Program Global Fund Round 10 is now on its Phase 2 of implementation from October, 2013 to September, 2016. In this regard, it is seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified Individual Consultants to apply the service provider for the task “develop Modules and Curriculum on Network Development and CBO Building.”
Specifically, the following will be provided by the Consultant to address the Grant’s requirements:
1. Conduct a review of existing literature on the topic; (including Pechan’s Community Strengthening Systems Curriculum guide and other existing CBO training modules).
2. Develop the overall Curriculum of the Network Development and CBO building (including Module Topics to be covered in each CBO level)
3. Develop the three level 1 (Entry-level) capacity building modules of the Network Development and CBO building curriculum.
4. Submit the draft Curriculum and the Level 1 series of Modules with the IHP PMU Hivos (Program Management Unit) for feedback and Validation.
5. Finalize the Curriculum and the three training Level 1 Modules for submission to IHP-PMU Hivos.
Key Qualifications
- Established experience in designing and Capacity building curriculum/modules
- Demonstrable experience in writing and publications in program documentation (written work samples may be required as part of the assessment process).
- Experience working with Community Based Organizations (CBO) in the Capacity building contexts
- Familiarity with the concerns of TGs and MSMs in the Southeast Asia context.
- Preferably with experience working with Global Fund Programs;
- Preferably resident of Southeast Asia and with experience in working in one of the ISEAN-Hivos countries; Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Timor Leste.
- Preferably with high level educational background on Social Sciences, Public Health, Communications and related areas.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; and with familiarity in one or more of the languages of the 4 countries.
The selected consultant will be engaged for 12 working days and to start in 1st week of May, 2014. Other related costs, as applicable will be covered by the ISEAN-Hivos Program.
