The Senior Education Specialist serves as the technical advisor and manager for the education governance program work in Eastern Indonesia. S/he will design technical strategies and work plans, identify and develop tools and methods, and provide management oversight and monitoring of their implementation. S/he will lead team efforts for technical assistance to and capacity building of local governments and civil society to improve education services. He/she will develop approaches and innovations that are technically sound and appropriate for Indonesia. He/she will also ensure that project work is in line with and reflects GOI decentralization policy and guide staff to sustainably improve education services in their particular localities.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Education or related advanced degree with at least 6 years of experience.
Program management experience and demonstrated familiarity with USAID programming in Indonesia is required, experience working in Eastern Indonesia strongly preferred.
Demonstrated track record of working with civil society and key government counterparts on basic education issues in Indonesia.
Fluency in English language is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills.
Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility.
Local National highly desired. Compensation will be determined according to the Indonesia salary scale.
